How it behaves in the disposer

Mashed potatoes: starch is the delicate part, because in water it swells and turns sticky. One grinding stage is enough, and nothing is left behind in the trap. It is already smooth and needs no grinding, but the starch makes it sticky: a little at a time with plenty of water, so it does not settle in the trap. A little at a time, with plenty of cold water. With that one precaution it becomes an ordinary scrap.
