WEEE — Waste electrical and electronic equipment

The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol

A food waste disposer is electrical equipment. The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on the product or its packaging means that, at the end of its life, it must not be disposed of with unsorted household waste but taken to separate collection.

Your right

When you buy a new disposer from us, you are entitled to the free take-back of your old appliance of an equivalent type, on a one-for-one basis (Legislative Decree 49/2014, articles 11 and 22). This also applies to purchases with shipping.

How it works

  • Milan and its province, with installation: we remove your old disposer and take it away during installation.
  • Purchases with shipping: state it in your order request. The courier collects the old appliance when delivering the new one, at no cost to you.

If you prefer a separate collection on a different day from delivery, the courier's second visit has a cost, shown in the order confirmation.

The old appliance must already be removed, emptied, clean and dry, and ready to hand over. We may refuse collection if the appliance poses a health risk to those handling it.

Alternatively, you can take it free of charge to your municipal collection centre. Never throw it in unsorted waste: the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol, on the product or its packaging, means it must be collected separately.

Why it matters

Separate collection allows materials to be recovered and prevents harm to the environment and health. Illegal disposal is punishable by law.
