Can I put corn husks in the disposer?

Corn husks

No, not with any model.

Too stringy: they go in the food waste bin. The cob is fine on top models.

How it behaves in the disposer

Corn husks: the fibre is long enough to behave like string, and string has no place in a sink. It would never reach fine particles in the chamber: it would sit in the trap, or further along where the pipe narrows. The husks are long and stringy and wrap around the moving parts. The cob, cut into pieces, is fine on the top models. Too stringy: they go in the food waste bin. The cob is fine on top models. The right route is the food waste bin, with the rest of the kitchen scraps.
