How it behaves in the disposer

Pineapple peel and core: not hardness but fibre, which behaves like a short piece of string around the plate. This needs a top-range model: the piece is picked up again and again until it is small enough to flow. The outer skin is hard and the core fibrous: in small pieces, a little at a time. The leafy crown on top goes in the food waste bin. Beyond that, it is one of the scraps a disposer deals with every day. If you produce a lot of it, it is worth checking your water utility’s rules.
