How it behaves in the disposer

Walnut, hazelnut, almond, pistachio shells are too solid for the chamber: they bounce around and come out whole. The grind would never be fine enough to flow: it would stop at the first bend of the drain. Walnuts, hazelnuts and almonds have woody shells, pistachios very hard ones: they do not break down into fine particles. Hard and woody: they go in the food waste bin. The place for this is the organic waste bin, not the sink.
