How it behaves in the disposer

Crab and lobster shells are too solid for the chamber: they bounce around and come out whole. The grind would never be fine enough to flow: it would stop at the first bend of the drain. Crab and lobster shell is thick and chalky, far more than prawn shells: it goes in the food waste bin. Too hard: they go in the food waste bin. Shrimp shells are fine on top models. The place for this is the organic waste bin, not the sink.
