How it behaves in the disposer

Pumpkin seeds and strings: not hardness but fibre, which behaves like a short piece of string around the plate. This needs a top-range model: the piece is picked up again and again until it is small enough to flow. The strings are sticky and fibrous: on their own they tend to wrap around. The seeds can also be toasted and eaten instead of thrown away. A few at a time, mixed with other scraps. If you produce a lot of it, it is worth checking your water utility’s rules.
