How it behaves in the disposer

Potato peels are soft tissue with plenty of water inside, so there is little resistance to the grind. One grinding stage is enough, and nothing is left behind in the trap. Potato peels are rich in starch: in large amounts they form a paste that slows the drain. If you peel a lot of potatoes, split them into several batches. A few at a time, mixed with other scraps. With that one precaution it becomes an ordinary scrap.
