How it behaves in the disposer

Kiwi skin is soft tissue with plenty of water inside, so there is little resistance to the grind. Two stages grind it fine enough not to settle in the bend of the trap. The skin is thin but hairy and fibrous: on its own it twists up, mixed with other scraps it grinds well. A few at a time, mixed with other scraps. With that one precaution it becomes an ordinary scrap. If you produce a lot of it, it is worth checking your water utility’s rules.
