How it behaves in the disposer

Herbs and stems are soft tissue with plenty of water inside, so there is little resistance to the grind. One grinding stage is enough, and nothing is left behind in the trap. The leaves grind at once; the woody stems of rosemary and thyme are harder: better only a few, broken up. A few at a time. With that one precaution it becomes an ordinary scrap. If you produce a lot of it, it is worth checking your water utility’s rules.
