How it behaves in the disposer

Eggshells: the hard part is the one a disposer handles best, because the chamber works by impact and not by cutting. A few turns in the chamber are enough: the grind comes out fine and leaves with the cold water. They break up easily into fine grains. The inner membrane is thin and causes no trouble if the shells go in a few at a time. A few at a time, with the cold water running. Beyond that, it is one of the scraps a disposer deals with every day.
