Can I put cherry, olive and apricot pits in the disposer?

How it behaves in the disposer

Small pits (cherry, olive, apricot, plum, date): what matters here is how hard it is, not how big, because the plate works by impact against the ring, much like a pestle. Two stages grind it fine enough not to settle in the bend of the trap. Cherry and olive stones are small but very hard: they make a sharp rattle as they turn, and that is normal. A few at a time, never a handful at once. A few at a time, with the cold water running. With that one precaution it becomes an ordinary scrap.
