Avocado pits: what matters here is how hard it is, not how big, because the plate works by impact against the ring, much like a pestle. Two stages grind it fine enough not to settle in the bend of the trap. Bigger than a peach stone but less hard. One at a time, with the water running until the sound settles. One at a time, with the cold water running. With that one precaution it becomes an ordinary scrap.
